What's YAWDS?
Yet Another Web Directory Site. Hey, everyone else was doing it! I figured I could do it better, or at least as well. And I'd get to use some cool AJAX stuff too...

How can I submit my site for a listing?
1. Click on the 'Submit My Site' link at the top of the page and then choose the directory you want to submit to.

2. Decide on the type of listing you want (you can always upgrade later):

3. Complete and submit the form.

4. Use a valid email! YAWDS will send a confirmation request to the email address you enter when you submit your listing. The email will come from yawds.com@gmail.com. Make sure you're not filtering it out as spam! Follow the instructions in that email to confirm your submission. If you don't confirm your submission, it will be automatically deleted after 7 days!

5. If you request a free listing, your submission will be reviewed within 7 days. If it doesn't show up in 7 days, I'm either on vacation or it failed to meet YAWDS standards.

6. If you request a paid listing, and your submissiom meets YAWDS standards, you'll get request for a PayPal payment. Once you make good (i.e. submit payment), you're listing will be approved and live within 3 days. If you submit a paid listing and DON'T get a request for PayPal payment, your submission was not approved!

How are listings ordered?
Web site listings are show according to listing type and then alphabetically.
1. Premium listings are shown first
2. Enhanced listings are shown next
3. Free listings are shown third

What's all this about YAWDS standards?
All submission to YAWDS are manually reviewed. If you want your site to be listed in YAWDS, follow these rules:

1. No adult/porn sites
2. No gambling sites
3. No hacker/warez sites
4. No pharmacy/hoodia or other crap sites
5. Top level domain links only - no sub-pages
7. No under construction sites

What it comes down to is this: you submit your site, someone from YAWDS looks at it with human eyeballs and decides if it is worthy. If it's not....

How long does my listing stay in YAWDS?
As long as your site remains live. YAWDS will check occassionally to make sure the sites in it's directory are still live. Sites that fail the check will be deactivated.

Can I upgrade my listing?
Yep. When you request a listing, you'll be asked for a password and email address. You can log back in at any time to see the sites you have submitted. Once you log in you can request an upgrade for any of them.

Can I edit my listing?
Nope. If you need changes made to your listing, contact us with the changes you want. We can hear you grumbling.... but we can't allow people to make changes because some individuals would submit a listing for Rainbow Feel Good Get Well Cards and then go back after it gets approved and change it to MegaMax Penis Enlargement Pills. Unfortunately, we all have to pay the price for these scallywags. Hence, we review all requests for changes and make them if they are appropriate.

Say I submit a paid listing for one site, can I change it to point to a different site?
Nope again. Paid listings are per site. If you want to submit another site, you have to pay for another listing. If you want to remove an existing listing, contact us. YAWDS automatically checks to make sure it's listings are still live, so any site no longer live will automatically be deactivated.
